Mitsubishi Experiments with Driverless Technology

Mitsubishi Driverless Cars
This past March, Mitsubishi Electronics unveiled new technology to advance the development of self-driving cars. The tech allows vehicles to automatically map landscapes and then transition between areas. The system uses artificial intelligence and Mitsubishi’s Mobile Mapping System (MMS). The maps will be incredibly precise and offer data about streets and nearby objects, and be able to update in real time to adjust for traffic lights, other cars and more. The MMS collects the data through scanners, a GPS and cameras, and the A.I. accesses it. Many self-driving cars rely on old map and GPS data for navigation. These vehicles, however, run into difficulties when other vehicles unexpectedly get too close or you drive on to a small dirt roads that might not be in the GPS data bank. Although Mitsubishi will use some of this same information, their new features will allow their driverless cars to form a map 10x faster than competitors and still be cheaper. This is far from the first time Mitsubishi has experimented with autonomous driving technology. For a number of years, Mitsubishi Electric has made self-driving cars their priority by reusing existing technology. For example, the company took the guiding equipment it helped create for Japanese missiles and applied it to their cars a few years ago. Mitsubishi hopes that by 2020 it will be able to sell these autonomous driving systems to markets around the world. Mitsubishi is dedicated to innovation. Their latest models use state-of-the-art technology to give you an incredible driving experience. Come to Peruzzi Mitsubishi today and experience one of these vehicles for yourself.
