The 2017 Geneva International Motor Show is on, and automakers have gathered to reveal their new models and concepts. Among them is the all-new 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross compact SUV, launching later this year. Rather than replacing any current Mitsubishi vehicles, it aims to fill a gap between the RVR and Outlander. One important new addition is that the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross comes with standard all-wheel drive. It also has a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and a manual CVT (continuously variable transmission). A 2.2-liter turbocharged option will also be available overseas, but seems unlikely to cross over into the U.S. With a forward-raked hatch, a crease along the side and new rear fenders, the Eclipse Cross’s exterior is new, but not radically so.
