Good Design Awards date back to 1950 when prestigious designers Edgar Kaufman Jr., Ero Saarinen, Charles Eames, and Ray Eames first established the award. It’s meant to honor the pushing of boundaries in manufacturing and product design.
This year, Mitsubishi’s 2018 Eclipse Cross and GT-PHEV Concept were the recipients of this coveted prize, presented by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
New to the U.S., the 2018 Eclipse Cross is a sleek five-passenger CUV that blends the best features of an SUV and crossover. The sophisticated design combines the sharp looks of a sporty coupe with Mitsubishi’s outstanding handling and technology. And of course, there are many of Mitsubishi’s signature touches, including their Dynamic Shield front design.
The Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept is just that, a concept. You won’t see this one on the street in its current form yet, but many of the groundbreaking features will soon appear in production models. These include its proprietary electric and all-wheel control technologies.
