2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV vs 2018 Kia Niro

More environmentally-conscious drivers are opting for plug-in hybrids (PHEV) – and those vehicles are rapidly evolving to combine both energy-efficiency with much better performance and exciting features. Mitsubishi’s 2018 Outlander PHEV is one of the most talked-about new crossover models. You can see it up close at Peruzzi Mitsubishi, but here’s how it stacks up against KIA’s newly-released Niro Hybrid.

For starters, the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is over a foot longer than the Niro. The Outlander’s design fits the lithium-ion battery pack neatly behind the rear seat. Both of these smart elements mean more interior and cargo space that allow for comfortably bringing friends, family and all kinds of gear along for the ride.

Also, the Outlander’s interior ups the plug-in game by featuring heated seats, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and safety features like adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking. No more bare-bones or boring PHEV crossovers!

Mitsubishi has given the 2018 Outlander PHEV a Super-All-Wheel Control drivetrain that delivers more power than the Niro’s basic Front-Wheel design. This offers far better handling and more control on any kind of terrain, from city streets to bumpy backwoods roads.

The all-wheel-drive platform – plus a larger engine than the Niro – gives the Outlander impressive towing power (up to 1,500 pounds), which makes it a standout in the PHEV crossover category.

When it comes to picking a roomy, comfortable plug-in crossover, the choice is simple:  The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is a perfect choice. If you want to browse Peruzzi Mitsubishi’s full selection of Outlander PHEV vehicles or any of our other model, check out our full inventory of new Mitsubishi vehicles available for residents of Levittown, PA, Trenton, NJ and the surrounding areas. Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross vs Hyundai Tucson

They may look similar, but when it comes to choosing between the 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross and the Hyundai Tucson, there are some critical distinctions you should know. See things up close at Peruzzi Mitsubishi, but for now, here are all the details.

Let’s start with comfort. The 2018 Eclipse Cross has specially-designed ergonomics that make driving a true pleasure. The standard heads-up display allows you to check on everything from speed to other warnings without ever losing your line of sight; you won’t find that in the Tucson.

On rainy or snowy days, the wipers on the 2018 Eclipse Cross adjust their speed automatically; not so with the Tucson, which require constant manual adjustments. Same with the headlights. The Eclipse Cross has sensitive light sensors that automatically switch between high and low beams as needed. You won’t find that convenience on the Tucson.

On the road, the 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross offers an optional Adaptive Cruise Control, which automatically alters your speed without constantly having to adjust for traffic. That’s a handy feature you don’t get on the Tucson.

When it comes to safety features, the Eclipse Cross includes standard airbags on all sides, traction control, lane departure warning, blind spot warning and much more. The SEL model of the Cross offers a Multi-View Camera that allows for seeing objects all around, and on a screen. In that regard, the Tucson only provides a beep or light flash when detecting objects within a limited area.

When it comes to driving power, the 2018 Eclipse Cross engine generates 33 lbs.-ft. more torque than the Tucson. There’s also a standard CVT (continuously variable transmission) that keeps the engine operating at its most efficient. On that same note, the Eclipse Cross gets better fuel mileage than the Tucson.

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has also been designed with a wheelbase that offers a much smoother and more stable ride than the Tucson – especially off-road on tough terrain.

So while on the outside, the Hyundai Tucson may look similar to the 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, the differences are significant. Stop by Peruzzi Mitsubishi for an up-close look and, more importantly, a test drive. You’ll see why the Eclipse Cross is the smart choice. Good Design Awards

In recent years, Mitsubishi has been undergoing something of a renaissance. Peruzzi Mitsubishi is proud to announce that the company’s outside-the-box thinking has just been rewarded with two Good Design awards for excellence in design and innovation.

Good Design Awards date back to 1950 when prestigious designers Edgar Kaufman Jr., Ero Saarinen, Charles Eames, and Ray Eames first established the award. It’s meant to honor the pushing of boundaries in manufacturing and product design.

This year, Mitsubishi’s 2018 Eclipse Cross and GT-PHEV Concept were the recipients of this coveted prize, presented by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.

New to the U.S., the 2018 Eclipse Cross is a sleek five-passenger CUV that blends the best features of an SUV and crossover. The sophisticated design combines the sharp looks of a sporty coupe with Mitsubishi’s outstanding handling and technology. And of course, there are many of Mitsubishi’s signature touches, including their Dynamic Shield front design.

The Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept is just that, a concept. You won’t see this one on the street in its current form yet, but many of the groundbreaking features will soon appear in production models. These include its proprietary electric and all-wheel control technologies.

The two Good Design awards sitting on their shelf are proof that Mitsubishi is relentless in their quest to push the envelope of possibilities. Outlander Sport vs Eclipse Cross

Mitsubishi’s Outlander Sport has long been one of their most popular models. For 2018, the carmaker is upping the ante with the debut of their new Eclipse Cross, a compact crossover SUV with the same reliable quality as the Outlander Sport – but a bunch of exciting new features. You’ll want to see this buzzed-about vehicle at Peruzzi Mitsubishi.

As compact crossovers go, Outlander Sport and Eclipse Cross are almost the same size. Yet the cabin on the Eclipse Cross has been designed to include many significant tech-savvy touches. A transparent “head-up display” on the dashboard lets you view everything from your speed to the safety features, all at a glance. The unique touchpad controller on the console allows for easy switching between your smartphone, playlists, and apps, with a simple swipe.

Compared to the Outlander Sport, the exterior of the Eclipse Cross has been re-invented for a sportier look. That includes a head-turning profile featuring a distinctive front grille and LED headlights and a split rear window.

One reason that the Outlander Sport remains one of Mitsubishi’s best-selling models is for its sturdy handling; the Eclipse Cross shares the same reliable wheelbase. However, the Eclipse Cross offers more power: the turbocharged 1.5-liter engine makes for impressive performance in highway driving.

Between the Outlander Sport and Eclipse Cross, the latest safety features are always something you can expect. The 2018 Eclipse Cross offers available Blind Spot Warning and Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, a Multi-View Camera System and more. Plus, the Mitsubishi Connect service, which provides emergency roadside assistance, pre-warming/cooling the vehicle and more.

So if you’re looking for a compact crossover SUV that’s taking things to the next level, stop into Peruzzi Mitsubishi for a test-drive of the 2018 Eclipse Cross. 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV

It’s a family SUV – but this 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander model is also a cutting-edge “PHEV.”  What’s that?  “PHEV” stands for “Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle” – and while these may have been around for a little while, this sleek new Outlander model is the only plug-in hybrid that offers super-fast charging (as in “25 minutes or less”). Which is only one reason that it’s become the world’s best-selling PHEV crossover.

The 2018 Outlander PHEV features a super-advanced all-wheel control system for great control and high-powered twin electric motors. The specially-designed combination of gas plus electric power makes for exceptional fuel-efficiency, powerful torque, and responsiveness on the road.  And in electric mode, there are zero emissions (the Environment says “thank you”).

Another thing that makes this PHEV a stand-out? It won’t cost you an arm and a leg; the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is being offered at an affordable price over many electric hybrids. But that affordability doesn’t mean that the Outlander skimps on anything.

On the inside, you’ll find super-comfortable seating, almost 64 cubic feet of cargo space and beautifully intuitive dashboard controls. Plus, there’s an available AC power adapter that lets you tap into 1500 watts of electric power for various devices. And if you want to bring your pop-up camper or jet ski along, an available towing package efficiently pulls up to 1,500 pounds.

The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV includes many of the safety features that Mitsubishi is known for (some standard, some available): Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control are there to make your driving a safer experience.

If you’re a driver who wants to be both environmentally and budget-conscious – yet still wants a ride that looks and performs at the top of the line, the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is worth more than a look. How to Rotate Your Tires

Your four tires work hard to get you where you’re going.  Rotating them keeps them healthy, reducing some of the wear and tear.  By rotating them every 5,000 miles or so, you’ll help them wear evenly.  And not for nothing, many tire warranties require regular rotation.  Does rotating your tires sound overwhelming?  It’s not.  The experts at Peruzzi Mitsubishi offer these insights.

First, understand that each vehicle may have a different rotation requirement, depending on whether it’s a front-wheel, all-wheel or four-wheel drive.  Check your owner’s manual for your car’s designated rotation; it may be a simple front-to-rear, or your tires may need to go in an X/diagonal pattern.

Start by putting your parking brake in the on position.  Spray the lug nuts on each tire with a penetrating oil, and let it sit for at least 15 minutes.

Jack up one corner of your car, and use a lug wrench to remove the first wheel.  Ensure that the lug nuts on the wheel are easily accessible.  Repeat this with the rest of the tires.

Now that all the tires are off, take this chance to clean any brake/dust crud that may have built up, using a wire brush to remove it.

Depending on your vehicle’s rotation pattern, swap out the tires.  Tighten up the lug nuts, using a torque wrench. Check your owner’s manual for the appropriate specs on how tight they should be.

Rotating your tires doesn’t have to be a big deal.  And regular attention can pay off in increased efficiency and safety of your vehicle.  Got questions?  Reach out to Peruzzi Mitsubishi for more information and how to’s. Peruzzi Mitsubishi’s service department can help you with rotating tires, or any other service or regular maintenance your vehicle may need.If you’re looking for a new vehicle to, check out Peruzzi Mitsubishi’s selection of over 150 new Mitsubishi vehicles available for purchase or lease in the Trenton, NJ and Levittown, PA areas. Tips for Winter Driving

When the weather outside is frightful, it’s best to stay safely indoors. But face it: we all have to do our share of driving in wintry weather, so pay attention to these tips, courtesy of the experts at Peruzzi Mitsubishi.

Start with the basics: before heading out, check that you have enough gas in the tank, your cell phone is charged and that your tires are properly inflated. And every car should always carry the following: road flares, jumper cables, a first-aid kit, spare tire with jack and tire iron, and an extra charger for your phone just in case.

During winter months, throw a blanket, extra water, and some snacks in the trunk. Depending on where you live, and how icy or snowy things tend to get, adding a small shovel and a few bags of cheap kitty litter may also prove helpful in getting traction off of a tough icy patch.

Winter driving means go slow: it takes longer to slow down on snow-or-ice-slicked roadways. For that same reason, don’t use cruise control or the parking brake on slippery surfaces. When faced with a hill, give yourself time to build up some momentum; once you’re on that hill, keep steady pressure on the gas.

If you do get stuck, slow and steady acceleration is the best route to getting out of it. Of course, if you can’t break free, it’s safer to remain with your car (this is where that charged cell phone comes in handy). Stick a bright piece of cloth on the antenna or in the window crack to attract attention; ensure that your tailpipe isn’t blocked by snow to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.

Lastly, if you have to drive a long distance in the winter, let someone know where you’re going and an ETA for when you should get there. Happy (and safe) driving!

If you’d like to get a vehicle checkup before taking a trip in a winter storm, visit the experts at Peruzzi Mitsubishi. We will check your vehicle to make sure it is in safe driving condition to get you where you need to go, rain or shine.
